Our Story

Bringing Northeast Indian traditions to Bangalore

From Assam to Bangalore

When we moved to Bangalore in 2018 for work opportunities, we brought more than just our belongings - we carried the culinary soul of our homeland. Missing the flavors of home and wanting to share our rich heritage, we began recreating Aaita's recipes in our city kitchen, adapting traditional methods to urban life while keeping every dish authentic.

What started as cooking for homesick friends has grown into weekend cultural experiences. We open our home to share not just food, but the stories, traditions, and warmth that define Assamese and Mishing hospitality. Each meal becomes a bridge between our roots and our new community.

Our Bangalore Home

Traditional Northeast Indian warmth in the heart of the city

In our Bangalore home, we've created a space that honors our Northeast Indian heritage. Traditional elements blend seamlessly with urban comfort - from the brass utensils in our kitchen to the handwoven textiles that remind us of home. Our dining area welcomes 4-6 guests for an intimate cultural experience.

Priya & Rajesh Sharma Celebrating their 20th anniversary

"As someone from Northeast India living far from home, I was moved to tears by the authentic flavors. The khar tasted exactly like my own grandmother's. The family even taught me the traditional way to prepare pitika!"

Dr. Ananya Borah Food researcher & Assamese diaspora

"We brought our children to learn about Northeast Indian culture. They were fascinated by the Mishing fishing stories and begged to learn how to make pitha. It became a beautiful cultural education for our whole family."
